TransContainer, Gefco launch new Europe–China container service

MOSCOW, May 10 (PRIME) – Leading Russian railroad container operator TransContainer and logistics company Gefco have launched a new container transportation service from Europe to China, TransContainer said in a statement on Wednesday.

The company has sent a train with 52 40-feet containers with textile industry equipment via a multimodal transportation on the route of Duisburg–Rotterdam–Riga–Pasiene–Ilestk-1–Dostyk/Alashankou–Kashgar. Depending on customs formalities, the train will take 12–14 days to transport goods to China through the 7,400-kilometer route.

A second train will be sent on the route on May 16.
